The President of honor of the association in battle against iodine deficiency "IODINE" is Anatoly Karpov - multiple world chess champion and Ambasador of Good Will of UNICEF- because of the activities and engagement on resolving of iodine deficiency issue.

A FEW IMPORTANT FACTS

Iodine deficiency disorders nowadays affect about 740 million people, 13 % of world population and about 30% is in risk of development of some forms of disorders caused by iodine deficiency in nutrition. Disorders caused by iodine deficiency endanger poor people, pregnant women, and children causing serious health problems in over 300 countries all over the world. About 50 million of people suffer from brain damage caused by insufficient intake of iodine. This problem can be solved by daily taking small amount of iodine with very low costs.
